While on tour in California, we appeared on an episode of IT'S HAPPENING, a "60's-style" cable music show (hosted by Domenic Priore and Audrey Moorhead). Domenic had convinced one of the surf museums to loan him 8 longboards (that's a 10-foot high surfboard, for you gremmies) for the taping of the show. Domenic had precariously placed them vertically behind the band while we performed. For the first part of the taping they were fine, but as we got wilder and wilder, Ron Silva (drummer for that tour) kept moving closer back to the wall.
Yep, you guessed it, right in the middle of a song, Ron knocks one of the boards over, which in turn knocks ALL the other boards over. One of the boards almost killed Rager!
This story isn't that exciting except for the fact that this clip of the surfboards falling on us got us on national television! "Entertainment Tonight" did a piece about cable access shows, and they asked Domenic for some footage. They of course showed the footage of the surfboards fallin' over on us! Over a hundred people called us in the week after it aired... "Man, you guys are failures!"... S"aw you on ET last night man, great job!"... etc. etc. etc...
